EPIC DEAN/CAS REC LIST

The categories are a bit weird - I go through phases where I HAVE TO READ a certain type of fic, and collect them like crazy. I have included some of my own comments on the fics in italics. Because obviously, what I think is very important.

Also, I’ve recently added a not for who bottoms in the NC-17 fics. Personally I don’t care either way, but I know some people have preferences! If there isn’t a note for who bottoms, then there either isn’t any actual fucking in the fic, or they’re versatile.

HUMOUR/CRACK

·         Date Night (by seraph_wings) PG-13. It’s Dean and Castiel’s fist date, and Dean is determined that it goes well. Naturally, chaos ensues.

·         Cas + Dean 4ever (by tuesdayfic) NC-17. Dean finds Castiel’s diary which reveals that the angel has a huge teenage girl-style crush on him. Meanwhile, Ruby and Sam help Castiel out with a very cunning plan.

·         Five Times Sam Didn’t Catch A Clue (by twfftw) R. Sam assumes that it’s all in his head. Dean assumes Sam had figured it out that it wasn’t.

·         Please Leave a Message (by AlreadyPainfullyGone) PG-13. Dean and Cas do prank wars. Sam is stuck in the middle.

·         Eternally Needing Proof (by eighth_horizon) PG-13. Sam and Dean decide to get Castiel drunk.

·         Angel TV (by moonlettuce) NC-17. Michael discovers television. This does not bode well for Dean and Castiel.

·         Angel-Cuffed (by luciel89) R. One morning Dean wakes up to find that he’s been handcuffed to Castiel and neither of them can get out of it. At first it’s extremely awkward. And then it’s… kind of hot.

·         How To Romance A Human (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. Castiel uses Cosmopolitan magazine for tips on how to seduce Dean. This is seriously one of the funniest things ever. Poor innocent clueless Castiel.

·         Sincerely, Castiel (by c00kie) G. Castiel sends Dean postcards from his travels as he searches for God. My favourite thing are the animals Cas befriends along the way.

·         Halosexual (by pagiel) R. It turns out that angels really do have haloes, and they’re a major erogenous zone.

·         Nudge Nudge (by strangeandcharm) R. Gabriel decides to get Dean and Castiel together, in typical Gabriel style.

·         Let Me Tell You ‘Bout The Birds And The Bees (by emerald_embers) PG-13. Castiel is being weird. More so than usual. Dean is determined to find out what’s up.

·         The Importance of Communication (by luchia13) PG-13. Meta!fic wherein Chuck is writing some new novels featuring gay lovers who are suspiciously like Dean and Castiel. Becky wants to know what’s going on, especially as a certain angel keeps nagging at her to find out where Dean is.

·         Fourth Wall Series (by entangled_now) PG-13. Sam and Dean gradually grow to appreciate fanfiction as their love lives take some very unexpected turns. I just love this series. So very much.

·         When All Is Said And Done (by spacemonkey_699) R. Michael is in trouble with God, and the only way he can fix things is by making it up to Castiel. By getting him and Dean to have sex.

·         Castiel Versus The Internet (by bellajayd) R. Castiel is bored while Dean sleeps, so he decides to complete an online meme.

·         Two Times Dean Thinks He Told Sam About Castiel (by bellajayd) R. Sam thinks Dean’s been acting very strangely. But then that’s nothing new.

·         Texts From Last Night (by Xela) M. Sam has received some very disturbing drunken texts from Dean, and now he has to find his idiot brother and discover exactly what he’s done to Castiel.

·         Something Primal (by luchia13) R. Possessed zoo animals are on the rampage, and Castiel has to turn himself into a dinosaur to protect the Winchesters and the 66th seal. Cas is a dinosaur. Do you really need to know more? Cas is a motherfucking dinosaur.

·         Stupid People (by maychorian) PG-13. Dean loses his brother and his angel, but gets two new pets in their place. Highjinks ensue.

·         The Demon in the Tubes (by ksock) PG-13. Team Free Will gets trapped in the Internet.

·         The (Mostly Accidental) Courtship of Dean Winchester (by everysecondtuesday) R. Dean finds out that he’s accidentally got half way married to Castiel.

·         The Rules of Heaven (by ksock) PG-13. Uriel is constantly getting into trouble. Uriel is the funniest angel in the garrison.

·         Sam is a Genius (Everyone is Dumb) (by peroxide fic) PG-13. Sam contemplates the burden of being so much smarter than everyone else when it seems like he’s the only one who can figure out that Dean is trying to woo Castiel. Awesome!Sam FTW.

·         Spilt Milk (by sparky77) PG-13. Sam knows that Dean is never going to actually admit to his feelings for Castiel without his help. More awesome!Sam.

·         This Story Needs More Power Ballads (by pyrebi) PG-13. In which Dean and Cas are dating, and Sam has to put up with a hell of a lot.

·         As Easy As Pie (by devilsduplicity) R. A curse means that Dean is forced to live out fanfiction cliches until he realises that the common theme is his attraction to Castiel.

·         Party Like It’s 1999 (by dachinchilla) PG-13. Castiel has a run in with a witch and is left only able to communicate using Britney Spears lyrics.

·         Top 40 Nightmare (by elementalv) PG-13. Dean suddenly can’t help singing. Becky is involved. 

·         It’s a Badass Afterlife (by janie_tangerine) PG-13. Castiel, newly appointed sheriff of Heaven, walks into Ash’s bar with some plans.

·         The Curious Case of the Wee Baby Cas Things (by tracy_loo_who) PG-13. In which Dean and Sam get saddled with a herd of Cas-like baby animals. Meanwhile, Castiel just wants a hug.

FEEL GOOD

·         The Dead Dean Clause (by vichan) PG-13. The apocalypse is over, Sam gets drunk, Dean is protective of his car, and Castiel learns how to lie.

·         I Love You (by devilsduplicity) PG-13. It takes several attempts for Dean to tell Castiel how he really feels.

·         The Soul Piece (by CloudyJenn) R. Every time a human child is born, their soul is shattered, each piece being given to the people they are destined to love. When the angel Castiel is hit by a piece of human soul, it changes the course of everything.

·         Rain Shall Fall (by gothclark) R. Castiel is given a day’s holiday from his heavenly duties, and all he wants is to spend it with Dean.

·         Sick Day (by lisztful) PG-13. Sam and Dean are ill, so Castiel gets to play nurse. Sam and Dean having man flu is adorable. Maybe there’s something wrong with me, but I like sick!Winchesters.

·         Second Childhood (CloudyJenn) PG-13. A witch’s curse renders Sam a child again, and Dean and Castiel have to take care of him while they figure out how to return him to normal. It turns out that little Sammy is quite the match-maker. Oh god, wee!Sam is the most adorable thing ever.

·         Bring It On Home (by anon) NC-17. Dean teaches Cas about satisfying physical urges, and in the process discovers that he is way more awkward than his angel when it comes to figuring out what he wants. As usual, it’s down to Sam to put things right. Bottom!Dean.

·         Graveyard Conversations (by izazov) PG-13. Dean slowly learns the benefits of having his own guardian angel.

·         Being Human (by Sparrowsarahnade) PG-13. An alternate ending to the apocalypse arc. Seriously the most adorable possible ending to S5 ever.

·         Where I End and You Begin (by lisztful) PG-13. Episode coda to 5x16 where Dean shows Castiel that there is hope after all.

·         Teeth (by sparrowsarahnade) M. Alternate ending to Live Free or Twihard wherein Dean bites Castiel. It’s incredibly hot, and I have no idea why Sarah thinks she couldn’t write porn because based on this? She totally could.

·         Zeppelin Rules (by Janie_tangerine) NC-17. Dean tries teach Castiel about music, but Cas’s tastes are very different from his own. Until, that is, Dean breaks out the Led Zeppelin tapes.

·         Banked Fires (by ariadnes_string) NC-17. Dean has a fever, but Castiel is there to make it better. See above, re. sick!Winchesters

·         There’s Not a Step We Can Take That Does Not Bring Us Closer (by annudriel) NC-17. An elaboration on the events of 5.03. Bottom!Dean.

·         The Girlfriend Experience (by rageprufrock) NC-17. Dean decides to give Castiel a sexual education, not realising that he’s getting a learning experience of his own. Bottom!Dean I love this so much. It’s funny (Sam has some glorious moments here), touching and bitter-sweet.

·         There Are No Victories In Our Histories (by twentysomething) G. Castiel goes to Jerusalem in search of God and ends up praying for Dean. He talks to Dean about it. This is such a lovely, poignant little story.

·         Working Vacation (by linda92595) NC-17. Castiel’s grace is all but drained, and Dean takes the angel on a hunt to cheer him up. With unexpected results. Bottom!Cas. My favourite part is Cas wearing Hello Kitty pyjamas and asserting that it’s demonstrative of his manliness.

·         Brother Lover (by twentysomething) PG-13. Dean wrongly believes that Castiel and Sam are in love with each other, and finally figures out that he loved Cas himself.

·         See The World In Green And Blue (by parenthetical) R. Castiel decides to spend a day living as a human in order to learn more about his charge.

·         Operation Jealousy (by scaramouche) M. Sam uses Dean’s jealousy trigger to get Dean to admit his feelings for Castiel.

·         She Taught Every Angel To Rearrange The Sky (by luchia13) PG-13. Ellen gives Castiel relationship advice when he turns up in her bar one day asking about Dean.

·          White Blank Page (by lidan14) PG-13. In which Chuck dithers, Cas exceeds expectations, Dean’s not talking about it and Sam is just trying not to think about it.

·          All Along (by quiddative) PG-13. Dean drunk-dials Castiel, then forgets about it. Sam knows it’s going to end badly.

·          Qui Custos es Mei (by vichan) PG-13. Bobby observes the development of Dean and Castiel’s relationship.

ANGST/DARK!FIC

·         Scissile (by elliptic_eye) R. Dean and Castiel have angsty, angry sex in the snow.

·         Freedom Hangs Like Heaven (by aesc) R. The apocalypse is over, Sam has given in to his demons, and Dean and Castiel brokenly cling to each other.

·         Heaven and Hell (by sparrowsarahnade) PG-13. Deleted scene from The Song Remains the Same. Cas is hurt and Dean takes care of him.

·         Everything That Dies (by murron) R. Everything has fallen apart, and Castiel is faced with the hardest choice he’s ever had to make. Oh god. It’s beautiful but do not read this one if you’re having a bad day because it will finish you off.

·         Tripping (by teaparty_fic) NC-17. This one’s kind of angst/humour. Dean struggles against all the signs the universe seems to be throwing at him that he belongs with Castiel.

·         To Reign In Hell (by whreflections) NC-17. Castiel’s punishment for falling from grace to be with Dean is that he is condemned to Hell. Dean has to rescue him. Demon!Cas. Bottom!Dean.

·         To Him That Was Crucified (by sparrowsarahnade) WIP. Team Free Will has fallen apart, and everyone is worse off for it. I seriously cannot wait to see where this is going!

·         Three Blind Mice (by laconicisms) M. Sam has returned from Hell, and Team Free Will fight to save him from eternal damnation. Not pure angst, mostly due to Cas being adorably clueless about being someone’s boyfriend, and Gabriel showing up and being… Gabriel.

·         What You Need (by Xela) R. Castiel has been instructed to give Dean what he needs, but he can’t figure out what that is. My favourite thing is the sex scene, because it’s a wonderful portrayal of how Cas is the only one who knows all of Dean’s scars, both inside and out, and how he loves him all the more for it.

·         Through Glass Darkly (by FunkyinFishnet) M. Set in the aftermath of My Bloody Valentine. Dean is giving up hope, Cas is there to restore it. Dean’s pain and exhaustion here are just so wonderfully written.

PRE-SLASH/GEN

·         Restore From Saved Draft (by lassiterfics) PG-13. Becky has to take care of an injured Castiel, and she introduces him to fanfiction, learning in the process that Cas is ‘the biggest Dean girl ever’.

·         Pied Beauty (by FayJay) PG-13. Angels can only see in black and white, but as Castiel spends more time with Dean, colours start to appear.

·         If On A Winters Night A Fangirl (by trinityofone) R. Becky is convinced that someone is trying to communicate with her directly through fanfiction, and they’re trying to tell her something about Dean and Castiel. I love fics with Becky, and she’s amazing here.

·         You Can Lead a Horse to Water (by emeraldembers) PG-13. The people who know Dean and Castiel figure out what’s going on long before they do.

·         Blaze of Glory (by twasadark) PG-13. Castiel considers Dean.

SMUT

·         Heaven Is A Synonym For Ecstasy (by rehymenated_67) NC-17. Sex in an alley. Bottom!Cas What I love about this is that it’s all from Cas’s point of view as a creature who is completely alien to humanity experiencing things like sexual desire, physical pleasure and love for the first time.

·         I’ll Be Your Everlasting (by narkypoon) NC-17. Ever since Castiel was brought back to them, Dean can’t stop staring at him. But Cas no longer meets his eyes, and it hurts Dean more than he’d like. Bottom!Cas. I loooove this fic, not just because the sex is beautifully written, but because it really captures the genuine feeling between them.

·         There’s A First Time For Everything (by strangeandcharm) NC-17. It’s Cas’s first time, and Dean’s going to make sure it’s good for him. Bottom!Cas.

·         Even Angels Have Their Kinks (by scaramouche) NC-17. It turns out that Castiel has one hell of a priest kink.

·         Where All Paths Lead (by tracy_loo_who) NC-17. A series of fics depicting different scenarios were Dean and Cas have sex. Bottom!Cas.

·         Always Fixing Me (by a_carnal_minx) NC-17. The first time they had sex, the first time they fucked, and the first time they made love, Bottom!Dean. What I like about this is that it gets to the root of their emotional bond as well as the physical one.

·         Free With His Hands (by watermaline) NC-17. Handprint kink at its best. Cas thinks that touching the handprint scar he left on Dean will calm his friend. The actual effect is far from calming.

·         If I Was A Body (by olympia_m) NC-17. Castiel wants to give Dean comfort and faith, and allows himself to experience his human body for the first time. Bottom!Cas.

·         In Skewed Ascension (by someblazingstar) NC-17. Castiel has a run-in with an incubus during a hunt, and Dean gallantly steps  in to help him out. Bottom!Dean.

·         Conservation of Space (by entangled_now) NC-17. Castiel offers to help Dean after he’s attacked by a succubus, leading to smoking hot sex in the Impala. Bottom!Cas.

·         Dean Doesn’t Listen To Eurythmics (by scaramouche) NC-17. Castiel is becoming more human, and needs to sleep. Dean shares a bed with him, and is woken up in the night by Cas having a sexy dream.

·         Paradise Circus (by nansense) NC-17. Dean tries to help Sam get laid with the help of a pretty unusual prop; he inadvertently turns Cas on to the magic of Massive Attack and Apple products. Bottom!Cas. The hottest having-sex-to-music scene ever.

TIME TRAVEL/FUTURE!FIC

·         I Am Origami (moonlettuce) NC-17. One day, a future version of Dean and Castiel show up at Bobby’s, and they have more than one revelation to give. Bottom!Cas.

·         A Wincest Story (by trinityofone) PG-13. The apocalypse is over, and the Winchesters have decided to live a normal life, along with Castiel. Sam knew it was a bad idea for Castiel to pose as their brother.

·         Maryverse (a collaborative effort between sparrowsarahnade and ladypapalade). Fic arc based on the premise that Cas rescues an orphaned baby girl one night, and he and Dean decide to raise her together.

·         Angels Gone Wild (by tracy_loo_who) NC-17. Castiel finally has the courage to make a move on Dean… with a little help from his future self.

·         Veteran (by liadan14) R. The apocalypse is over, Castiel has chosen to remain, and it’s up to Dean to teach him how to be human.

·         Falling Out of Darkness (by rosinblackrose5) PG-13. 300 years in the future, angels are kept as the slaves of humans. Another Dean Winchester, ancestor of the original, is wounded, and an angel watches over him. You will need kleenex for this one.

AMNESIA!FICS (including It’s a Terrible Life fics)

·         How Castiel Got His Wings Back (And What He Did With Them Thereafter) (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. One stormy night, Castiel wanders into a small town church with no idea who he is or what he’s doing there. Years later, Sam and Dean find him. My favourite thing about this is the portrayal of a broken, lovelorn Dean who’s been pining after Castiel for so long, and his undisguised joy when he finds him again. What can I say, I’m a sap.

·         When Memory Fails (by destial) PG-13. Dean wakes up in a motel room with no idea who he is. Castiel is the only person he trusts to put things right.

·         A Well Respected Man (by Olympia_m) NC-17. Dean Smith wonders why his boss’s new secretary keeps staring like that…

·         Scorched Memory (by goth_clark) R. Castiel can’t remember what’s happened over the past two weeks, but he’s wearing leather pants so it can’t be anything good.

·         The Freaky Box Thing (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. Dean really should know by now not to touch cursed objects. He loses his memory but opens his eyes. Sam is amused.

·         Smoke and Mirrors (by izazov) PG-13. Dean Smith likes his life, even with that guy in the restaurant he goes to who just won’t stop staring.

·         Disobeying Orders (by rockmyway) R. Castiel decides that he doesn’t care what his instructions are – he’s going to meet his charge, Dean Winchester, before their appointed time. It’s just a shame that Dean will never remember. Castiel poses as a librarian. Castiel. Poses. As a. Librarian.

·         Something, Something That Replies (by architeuthis) NC-17. Dean Smith is fascinated by the strange marks on his body. Especially the handprint scar on his shoulder.

·         Being Human (by izazov) R. Castiel loses his wings. And his memory.

HOLIDAY FICS

·         The Cold Of Flesh And Stone (by entangled_now) NC-17. Castiel helps Sam and Dean hunt a troll on Christmas Eve. Afterwards, a confession in the snow turns this into the best Christmas Dean’s ever had. Bottom!Cas.

·         The Ghost In The Machine (by prettify) NC-17. Gabriel shows Dean a vision of the future as it could be if he gives in to his feelings for Castiel. Bottom!Cas.

·         Trees Change In The Fall (by sparrowsarahnade) PG-13. Three Autumns that Dean and Castiel share. Gorgeous and heartbreaking.

·         All The Neighbors Might Think (by murron) R. Set a few years in the future. Dean and Castiel enjoy Christmas together.

·         Miracle on Dakota Avenue (by sparrowsarahnade) G. Based on Miracle on 34th Street, Sam and Dean are in trouble, and thanks to Cas and Becky teaming up, all the people they’ve saved come together to help them. 

·         A Different Kind of Fourth of July (by Dark Alice Lilith Strife) PG-13. Sam and Dean spend some quality time with their respective angels.

·         Baby, It’s Cold Outside (by twentysomething) PG-13. It’s December and it’s freezing, but the Winchesters discover that angels are like hot water bottles. Admittedly, this is mostly a Sam/Gabriel fic, but it’s adorable, and Dean and Cas are snuggling.

·         I’m Batman (by kittyalex) PG-13. Dean’s been dragged to a Halloween party and he hates it… until he meets an attractive stranger dressed as Batman.

·         Santa Claus is Coming to Town (by McLachlan) PG-13. Sam and Dean try to explain Santa to Cas. The angel is not amused.

·         Your Freckles Are Plentiful (by an_ardent_rain) PG-13. It’s valentine’s day, and Castiel is trying to write Dean a poem.

·         Dean vs. Good Intentions (by thinlizzy2) R. Cas thinks that Valentine’s Day traditions are the epitome of human courtship rituals and thus uses them as his guidelines to seduce Dean. Hilarious and adorable.

WING!FICS

·         A Different Kind Of Wing!Fic (Dire Banshee) R. Dean has wings. Big butterfly wings. He hates it. Castiel doesn’t. Bottom!Dean.

·         Clue Feathers (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. Something weird is going on with Castiel’s wings, and Dean sets out to discover what’s up.

·         It’s In His Wings (by wolfrider89) NC-17. Dean discovers that Castiel’s wings are a huge erogenous zone.

·         Sitting In A Tree (by lythnia) NC-17. Castiel and Dean are trapped up a tree by a werewolf, and Castiel has just saved Dean with his wings. Now, how to pass the time till they’re rescued… It’s completely gratuitous and that’s why I like it. 

·         Unperfect (by misslucyjane) R. Dean wants nothing more than to see Castiel’s wings, but Cas is ashamed of them.

·         Interlocking Barbs (by ramenaddict) PG-13. The apocalypse is over and Dean is left with second sight, meaning that he can now see Castiel’s wings. Grooming ensues.

·         Pygmalion Amongst The Wheat (by bellajayd) R. What took place after Castiel rescued Dean from Hell, and before he returned him to Earth. This is just so beautifully written.

·         Glimmer Shimmer (by ladyyuch) PG-13. Sam wonders when exactly his brother started wearing shimmer dust on his face.

·         Four Times Dean Asked, And The One Time He Didn’t (by blue_flame88) PG-13. Dean really wants to see Cas’s wings, but Cas knows that exposing his true form will hurt Dean.

·         Till We Have Faces (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. The apocalypse is over, and Dean is granted a sight of Castiel’s true form.

·         Shields Made of Ecstasy (by isagel) NC-17. Dean likes to be punished, but this time Castiel wants to be gentle.

·         Tattered Feathers (by kijikun) NC-17. Dean helps groom his angel.

·         No Illusions In The Way (by secondplatypus) NC-17. Dean walks in on Castiel with his wings out. Bottom!Cas.

·         Without A Doubt (by TehOphiliac) PG-13. Every time there’s a flash of lightning, Dean catches a glimpse of Castiel’s wings.

·         Of These Things I See (by tigbit) R. Castiel saves Dean’s life again, and Dean becomes increasingly fascinated by the angel’s wings.

·         Ornitholigae (by takadainmate) PG-13. Castiel gets his wing trapped in a door. Dean makes it better.

·         Come Carpe Diem, Baby (by a_carnal_mink) NC-17. Dean is curious about Castiel’s wings, leading to sexytimes in the dark.

·         Touch (by kijikun) NC-17. Dean can’t see Castiel’s wings, but he can feel them.

FAIRYTALE!FICS

·         Beauty And The Beast (by misslucyjane) PG-13. AU. The Winchester’s are renowned hunters, and arrive in a small town where they are asked to investigate the mystery surrounding an abandoned mansion and the beast that is said to haunt it.

·         The Angel And The Pea (by anon) NC-17. Prince Dean must marry – but a prophesy has decreed that it can only be to a real angel.

·         A Supernatural Fairytale (by anon) PG-13. Sam, Dean and Castiel thought it was a regular hunt, but they end up wandering into Oberon’s realm, and he’s not happy about it.

·         Bone Mother (by luclua13) PG-13. Re-telling of All Hell Breaks Loose. Dean has kept his little guardian angel statue with him as long as he can remember, and when Sam’s kidnapped by YED, the angel promises to help Dean get him back. But they have to visit Baba Yaga first.

·         Aschenflugel (by liadan14) NC-17. A re-telling of the Cinderella story. Castiel is a half-breed, ostracised by his family because he’s not ashamed of his wings. Dean is the prince who thinks his wings are awesome. Extremely well written and darker than you’d expect.

·         The Story Is A Lie (by c00kie) R. The Orpheus story re-imagined. Sam and Dean must rescue Castiel from Hell, but the angel has been damaged and Dean fears he won’t get him back in one piece.

·         The Diabolical Dragon Plot (by slartbartfast) PG-13. The Winchester’s are dragon hunters. One day Dean is rescued by Castiel, a fairy prince, who is determined to reunite the realms of Heofan and Eorthe, but he needs Dean’s help to do it.

·         Aurora (by bauble) R. The Snow Queen. Castiel must face many perils as he searches for his lost love, Dean, who has gone in pursuit of the Snow Queen.

He then has 100 days to win Dean’s love or face being thrown into the pit himself.

·         I Am No Angel (by miss_meh) NC-17. A Beauty and the Beast story where Dean and his family are trapped by a curse and need an angel to set them free.

·         Cindermouse (by Olympia) R. A Cinderella story. Castiel is just a lowly servant, but when he sneaks into the King’s ball, Dean only has eyes for him.

·         A Peacock Story (by talli_approved) PG-13. Based on the fairytale ‘Princess Rosette’ where Castiel is the angel prince who has been imprisoned in a tower, and must endure many trials before he can be united with his human prince.

·         Props (by scaramouche) PG-13. Based on Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Princess Madison lives under a terrible curse, and Sam Winchester might just be the man who can save her. Meanwhile Dean and Castiel, also afflicted by the curse, make efforts to help their mistress while at the same time negotiating the feelings they may or may not have for each other.

·         The White Dove (by lilyleia78) PG-13. Castiel is a prince traded to a demon because of a foolish promise made by his brothers. Dean is a Hunter trapped in the shape of a white dove who promises to help Castiel escape.

·         Something About Toads (by pyrebi) PG-13. Dean finds his very own angel in disguise in need of rescuing.

AUs

·         In Real Life (by CloudyJenn) R. Castiel is an English teacher who is in love with a man he met online whose novel he’s editing (Dean). Sam, a teacher at Cas’s school, figures out what’s going on and decides to set them up. This one made me flail quite a bit. Extra points for awesome!Sam.

·         It’s Always The End Of The World Somewhere (by scaramouche) NC-17. High school. Castiel is a notorious weirdo, and Dean is one of the most popular kids in school. They shouldn’t have anything in common. And yet… Castiel is very much like Future!Cas in this one, and over the course of the fic you find out why. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful.

·         Rebel, Rebel (by Rosaline_kells) R. Dean is the world-weary son of a private detective, and things take a turn for the worse when the town he lives in is rocked by murder. This is one of my absolute favourites and I do a little dance whenever it’s updated.

·         Sensor And Guardian (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. Dean and Castiel meet at a school for supernatural creatures, and it’s not long before they’re driving each other crazy.

·         I Think I Know Where You Belong by (twentysomething) PG-13. Based on Taylor Swift’s video for ‘You Belong With Me’.

·         The Bookshop (by shirozora) PG-13. Dean is pretty happy with his routine life in Lawrence, CA. However, when the Novaks move to town and Dean develops a massive crush on the youngest brother, Castiel, normal life goes out the window.

·         The Ghost of Embers (by Moorishflower) NC-17. A broken Dean Winchester moves to New York, and is completely out of is depth until he gets to know his mysterious neighbour, Castiel. But Castiel has a few secrets of his own.

·         Ann a bhios mo dhòchas (by obstinatrix) NC-17. It’s a stormy night in Scotland, and Castiel, a linguist, takes shelter in Dean’s roadside inn. Bottom!Cas. Scottish!Dean is sexy.

·         In This Secluded Spot I Respond As I Wouldn’t Dare Elsewhere (by RhymePhile) M. High School. Castiel has been tormented for all his school career, and when Dean enrols at the school Castiel thinks he’ll be no different from all the other bullies. Dean proves him wrong.

The Request (by CloudyJenn) PG-13. Angels exist, but they’re very different from the angels on the show. When Castiel gets his first ever mission - to help Dean Winchester find love - things take an unexpected turn. One of my all-time favourites. I always read it when I need cheering up.

·         Asunder (by rageprufrock) NC-17. Dean really doesn’t want to go to Sam and Ruby’s wedding. But then Castiel offers to go with him. This is such a beautiful and painful fic. I actually cried when Sam and Dean started to rebuild their tattered relationship.

·         The Voice of the Turtledove (by obstinatrix) NC-17. Castiel is a Catholic priest, plagued with guilt over his homosexuality. Dean is the beautiful young altar boy who shows him that he has nothing to feel guilty about.

·         Everyone Knows What Happened At The Library (by exmanhater) PG-13. Dean is a librarian, who helps a young girl find a book. A young girl who happens to have a very hot uncle. I just love library fics.

·         Being Good Isn’t Always Easy (by amor_remanet) NC-17. Castiel is an outcast at university, consumed by anxiety and a drug problem. And a serious dislike for that idiot Dean Winchester. She’s written a series of sequels to this which are all really good.

·         Start Quoting Shakespeare And We’re Done (by pyreby) PG-13. Dean has always had a thing for librarians, and Cas happens to be a very hot one. I wish Dean did have a thing for librarians…

·         To Kiss (Or Try) In LA (by takhallus) PG-13. Dean’s a big movie star with a major crush on a clerk fom his favourite clothes store. But does Castiel feel the same way? God, this is so funny and adorable ^__^

·         Tell Yourself It’s Easy (And It’s True) (by liadan14) PG-13. Fusion with The Princess Diaries with Cas as the geeky kid who discovers he’s a prince, and Dean as his best friend’s older brother who Castiel’s been holding a torch for.

·         The Awesomes (by blue_fjords) R. Fusion with The Incredibles. Dean, Sam and Castiel have had to hide the fact that they’re superheroes for years, and Dean and Cas are married with a family. But there are forces in play which mean they might have to become The Awesomes once more. Bottom!Dean.
